These crocheted washcloths are fantastic. This is a simple pattern and is a quick easy project. They are washing machine and dryer safe (colours will fade and this is normal). They are durable enough to be used to wash your dishes but soft enough to also wash your baby.
This year I finally got around to making some catnip tincture and I’m going to show you my process from start to finish. But first let’s chat a bit about catnip. Most people know catnip as a plant solely for cats – a treat that drives them crazy – but Netepa is quite the versatile plant, having so much to offer in terms of medicine.
Catnip is extremely useful for many digestive complaints including gas, bloating, indigestion, spasms and nausea. As with many digestive herbs Nepeta also has a strong affinity for the nervous system. It works very well in formulations for stress related conditions, anxiety, depression and insomnia. Basically it has the opposite effect on humans as it does for cats.
Catnip is also a herb I keep in mind for acute feverish conditions, including childhood fevers such as chicken pox or measles. Finally Nepeta can be used to aid the female reproductive system for conditions such as cramps, emotional symptoms related to menstruation and irregular cycles.
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
sk = skip
sts = stitches
sl st = slip stitch
Ch 25
R1: sk first ch, *1 sc and 1 dc in next ch, sk next ch, repeat from * up until last ch, sc in last ch, ch 1, turn (25 sts)
R2: sk first sc, *1 sc and 1 dc in next dc, sk next sc, repeat from * up until last sc, sc in last sc, ch 1, turn (25 sts)
R3-25: repeat row 2 (do not fasten off)
Still using your main colour sc evenly along the edge of the entire washcloth (add extra stitches in the corner to make it around – I usually do three total)
End with your main colour with a sl st into first sc
Using your contrasting colour attach anywhere along the outer edge
ch 1, sl st into st, repeat all the way around
sl st into first st when you get all the way around
Fasten of and weave in all your ends
Many thanks for reading and happy crocheting!
P.S. Pin for future reference 😉
